Pepperologie // May 2013 Recap
Helloooooo, my friends! Did you have a lovely three-day weekend? We tried to take it easy for the most part (I had to have jaw surgery on Friday - OUCH!), but there are just so many wonderful things going on in NYC in the Spring-time and it felt like one of those times when nothing should be turned down, you know?Speaking of seizing the moment... I'm going to take THIS moment to share the photos of our Pepperologie event from a few weeks ago here with you today, and THEN Thursday, I've got a fun announcement about our next workshop!Keep reading for a slew of lovely snapshots from throughout the day, and find a tip at the bottom about how you can be FIRST to find out about upcoming events...
After morning coffee and mingling, we kicked the things off with our Clean Eating session taught by Amie Valpone of The Healthy Apple.
Amie walked us through the nutritionally rich ingredients needed for a gorgeous "Parfait Bar" brunch spread, and then led us through her top favorite healthy kitchen swaps while we munched away on our tasty treats.
Next was DIY Entertaining with Rebecca Gallop of A Daily Something, and not only did she teach the course at 8 months pregnant, but her tabletop setup was hands-down one of the most gorgeous I have ever seen.
The woman is a complete GENIUS in a thrift shop (she shared her local treasure hunting spots with us!), and we all watched carefully as she so seamlessly used found objects, vintage goodies and beautiful serving pieces from West Elm to create the perfect setting for a bright and airy brunch. (To see more shots of the tabletop and decor, check out Rebecca's post about the event on her own site!)
As if we weren't inspired enough, the last part of the course had us all painting our own DIY corkboard place-mats that could be made in multiples to set the table or hung on our walls to hold reminders and handy notes. Genius, and SO fun!
Next, I had the pleasure of sharing my favorite Summer Hair & Beauty tricks with the group, and even had a little help from the guests along the way! :)
For the DIY portion of this session, everyone made their own Coconut Oil Exfoliating Scrub to use before applying my favorite sunless self-tanner from Bare Minerals (everyone went home with a bottle!) - No streaks or lines allowed here! ;)
What an honor to have connected with such an incredible group of women! I still feel so blessed by the experience of having a day where we cultivated new friendships, shared knowledge about living a flavorful life & encouraged one another to feel like the best versions of ourselves possible. If this sounds like an experience that you'd be interested in attending, please check out the Pepperologie website for more information (plus a video!), and sign up for our newsletter to make sure you're one of the first to know when we announce upcoming dates and locations!*All photos in this post by Sara Haile
