Have you noticed that we’ve been seeing a much more delicate look working it’s way into popular jewelry trends recently?  One could argue that costume pieces will never go away (thank goodness!), but I think that sometimes wearing daintier little baubles in neutral colors can make just as much of a statement, yes?

When I came across Kendra Phillip jewelry, I was instantly smitten with the simplicity of the collection and then pulled in even farther by the affordability and little added extra details – the beautiful textures, stamped designs & unique use of chains all make all make such a difference in setting the pieces apart!  I rounded up a few of my Peppery Picks to share with you here, but have to admit that those mixed metal mini-bangles are definitely my absolute favorite.

Which piece from the line above do you like the most?  I’d love to know: Are you donning the simple and sweet jewelry these days or sticking to the bolder pieces that make a big look?

Peppery Picks // Business Chic

Get the Look:  Floral trousers, White blouse, Sequin shell
Black pumps, Tortoise Glasses, Deborah Lippman polish
YSL ring, Nars lip crayon, Gold Nixon watch, Cobalt tote

Looking at my schedule for the upcoming weeks, I’m realizing that with a handful of business events, meetings & projects on the calendar, I’m needing to scheme up some fall outfits that will keep me appearing professional, yet looking very much my quirky, style-focused self.  …This comes from someone who is currently writing this while sitting at my desk in my running clothes and tennies. :)

I feel fortunate to work in an industry that allows for lots of creative liberties when it comes to dressing, but rather than throw caution to the wind ALL the time, I think that striving for a polished look is an important and effective tool for entrepreneurial success.  (How’s that for a lighthearted Thursday morning sentiment??)

Today’s Peppery Picks are a collection of pieces that are business-worthy when worn in an intentional way, and on their own would be perfect for creating a more experimental “off-duty” look.  I started with the abstract floral Erdem trousers and the sequined Alice + Olivia shell (both from one of my favorite shopping resources, eBay!), and continued on by adding classic basics to up the chic-factor and balance out the boldness.

I’d love to know what you wear to work each day, and how the day-to-day environment has an effect on your sartorial choices… My style has changed so much every time I’ve switched careers, and I think it’s so interesting to hear about the getting-dressed thought-process of others as it relates to their job!

Giveaway // Paula Mendoza + Bevel

Find out how to win these earrings, below!

Happy Friday, Friends!  I’m kicking off the weekend today with a giveaway from a fabulous new jewelry shopping site, called Bevel, that has asked me to help spread the word about their online trunk shows.  They invited me to pick my favorite piece (these fabulous earrings by designer Paula Mendoza!), and offer the chance to win a pair for one lucky reader!

About the Site //  Bevel allows up and coming designers to create a sample collection, and then they offer the pieces for sale within a virtual trunk show on their site.  The designers create the line based on the customer orders, and then Bevels handles the rest!  They’re a few days in to their 12 Days of Christmas event, and I’m excited to be telling you about such a unique holiday shopping experience.

About the Designer // All of Paula Mendoza’s jewelry is sourced and created near near her window-lined mountain-view studio in Bogota, Colombia.  All of the materials and stones are one of a kind so no two pieces can be the same (love that!).  When she mentioned that she loves making statement pieces that add a richness and an edge to the look of an otherwise dull ensemble, I knew we were a great match for each other.  Keep an eye out for her pieces on both Moda Operandi and Edition 01 very soon, and until then – Shop the collection at Bevel!

How to Enter // Head on over to join Bevel (use access code NYC10) and leave a comment on this post letting me know that you’re all signed up, and please don’t forget to include your email address so that I can contact the winner.  The contest will run until next Friday, December 21st at 10am EST.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend, Friends!  It’s been a busy couple of days for me, and I’m feeling so excited for the second weekend in a row that I’m planning to unplug from my computer completely.

Be sure to keep up with my adventures over on instagram and twitter, and I’ve got a fun Peppery Picks post ready for you tomorrow, where I share my very own Christmas Wishlist! (LISTEN UP, MR. PEPPER)  Stay tuned, and I’ll see you soon!
