Celebrate | Hosting Our First Christmas
We're hosting Christmas at Casa de Pepper for the very first time this year!
Sadie's surgery has meant laying low for the past several weeks, and I must admit that we were SO bummed to realize that it would mean skipping our usual Christmas week in Arizona!Instead of road-tripping to my parents house like we normally do, they're actually joining us here with my brother and Gerard's parents as well! I've been daydreaming about our Christmas Day dinner for the past several days, and here are a few of the details that are inspiring me most:
Decorating the table with modern floral arrangements that are peppered with seasonal produce.
G's favorite winter cocktail is a classic Old Fashioned, but I'm going to make his with a new spin on fancy apple cider ice cubes.
No secret that I love my leafy greens, and a side of this kale + pomegranate salad would keep things nice and fresh.
Sweeping up my strands when the kitchen gets warm, and choosing a polished pinned-back hairstyle that will work for everything from Christmas Eve church to cozy pajamas to early family walks along the sand.
Whipping up some macadamia ricotta to make these twice-baked sweet potatoes extra creamy.
Swapping in a few healthy staples to make my own lighter version of this salty chocolate-dipped butter cookie.
Hot cocoa is necessary and these homemade peppermint marshmallows will take it to Christmas-y next-level.
Topping it all off with a perfect holiday playlist that is sure to take us from present-opening to pouring afternoon toddies in no time at all.
Wishing you many blessings and BIG holiday hugs while we count down to the most precious day of the year!
