Most people skip straight to slinky fabrics with lots of shimmer for their holiday party options (or, ya know – Christmas Tree shopping), but when the temperatures are below freezing and the ground is covered in ice, I’d like to propose a rule that makes practical layers a mandatory part of my look.
Last week, I was getting dolled up for a few evening events in the city and just could not take off the cozy sweater I had been wearing all day. Thankfully it has a shiny silver thread woven right into that waffle knit pattern that made me feel like it automatically qualified for a special occasion. :) #BINGO
Keep reading for the rest of the look, and in the meantime, I’d love to know:
When it comes to dressing up for winter parties, are you more of a stay-warm sweater kind of gal, or do you go all out with the sassy sequins and just throw a snug scarf over the top? Tell me in the comments!

Love the coat! I couldn’t even think of anything slinky here in California (unless we get a random heat wave). You look chic and warm!

I love all of your outfits! I wish I had your conficence and style. I’m more of a ‘solid colours, classic lines’ kind of girl, myself.
That being said, I wam in shorts & T-shirt, and will probably graduate to a sarong dress for the next couple of months very soon. Y’see, it’s summer here Down Under, and a tad warmer than the Northern Hemisphere.
Merry Christmas!
You can never, EVER go wrong with leopard print! I love how it looks against the blue colors of your skirt! For me, when it comes to holiday dressing, it’s kind of a toss up sometimes between chic and practical. Many times it depends on the particular occasion. However, if I can find a sequined sweater, I’m good!
xo, Stephanie :)
