Concrete Catwalk // Cut-Off Casual

August 22, 2013

Now that we’re back in the city, I’m longing for beach-life more than ever. Doing my best to stretch out the vacation vibe by infusing my late-summer outfits with as many laid-back looks as possible – doubled up denim (especially cut-offs!) almost always seems like a great fit!

I’ve been wanting to add a pair of white shorts to my closet for a while now, and when I spotted this pair on sale at Old Navy, I knew I couldn’t pass them up.  (I also knew that they MUST be paired with some of the brightest flats I’ve ever seen!)

Check out the rest of the look after the jump, and see why a special house-guest (arriving tonight!) is giving me some serious excitement about the upcoming weekend!

In addition to dressing like I’m still in Southern California, I’m keeping my spirits up by looking forward to a very fun next couple of days… My mini-me-cousin is coming to visit us from Arizona, and I’m so excited to explore with her and experience a handful of NYC experiences that I’ve been wanting to squeeze in before the season comes to a close.

We’re going to sample some tasty treats, do some back-to-school shopping (she’s heading off to her freshman year of college in a few weeks!), and hopefully be spending lots of time outdoors.

Do you have any can’t-miss NYC experiences that it simply would not be summer without? I’d love some extra ideas, and can’t wait to hear your thoughts!
