The downtown skirt from Madewell is one of those pieces that is just SO comfortable, it almost feels inappropriate to be wearing around in public… kind of like the “pajama” pants we talked about this past Spring.
These photos were taken while we were in Florida a few weeks ago, so I figured that being on vacation might count as a decent enough excuse to be running around in something that feels fit for a full on lounge-fest. :) When I was putting it all together, I knew that I wanted to to keep things casual with chunky heels and a striped button down, but I also packed a vintage tee and strappy flat sandals for a more daytime-way to wear the same piece. I always love coming up with ways to make my staples do double duty when I’m putting looks together for a trip!
Speaking of multiple uses for wardrobe favorites: I styled a fun 3-ways-to-wear-it shoot for Emma Magazine using this very skirt a few weeks ago, and I’m looking forward to sharing the results here on S&P very soon!
Keep reading for the rest of this look below, and if you’re in NYC, don’t forget that the Verily x Bauble Bar “Women in Media” event is tonight… I’m so excited to be speaking on a panel with such an amazing group of ladies, and would love to see you there!

Perfect pairing! I really like the shirt tied over the skirt. Your hair is so lovely here as well. Love the side swept, wavy bangs!
I adore this combo!
You look AMAZING! I love how you combined these two prints together.
In the words of a new friend, you are truly a “power-clasher” and that’s totally awesome!! Love the pattern play.
