Concrete Catwalk // Zipped Down

April 18, 2013

Oh, “Professional Attire” – how you confuse me…  (Why do people still feel the need to put stuff like that on invitations, anyway?)

I’ll never claim to be the most buttoned-up when it comes to style, and while I always try to be in the realm of appearing appropriately, I can hardly resist the chance to sneak in a few quirky extras when there are expectations surrounding how I should be dressed.

In this case, the red strappy sandals and ankle-zip trousers were my way to spice things up, and as long as I could keep people from looking below my knees (that’s where the help of some jingle-y gold hoop earrings came in!), I thought that it was a clever way to keep things cool… Check out the full look below, and let me know what you think!

Top to Bottom:
Jingly gold earrings – Vintage, thrifted
Aviators – Banana Republic
Silk striped tank (also seen here) – Vintage, thrifted
Blazer (similar) – Zara
Rhinestone cuff (similar) – c/o Sorrelli
Handbag (similar) – c/o Brahmin
Ankle-zip trousers – Asos
Heels – c/o Sole Society

Eeeeek! I can’t believe your striped top is vintage. It looks like you could have pulled it straight off the rack today. The stripes are so vibrant.
