Airport style is a hot topic around our household, and it’s usually not held in a very positive light. G and I travel quite a bit, and can always get a decent kick out of seeing what so much of the population deems appropriate to wear on an plane. One of our favorite recent sightings? Flannel Spongebob Squarepants pajama bottoms with poolside slip-ons, on a grown woman with pink hair. A close second? A man twice our age wearing denim cargo-shorts (I didn’t know they made them either) with a tank top and tennies, sans socks. Neither person had any idea how ridiculous they looked, and there was no hint of irony detected in either outfit. (I triple checked.) Always pretty fascinating to see what pops up at the melting pots that our airports can become!
I’m smackdab in the middle of packing for our Christmas vacation (leaving tomorrow – YAY!), and have to tell you I’m a little stumped on how I’m going to make it all come together. We’ll be spending the first half of the trip with G’s family in Orange County and then heading to meet up with mine for some skiing in Park City. I’ll be sharing a little snippet tomorrow morning of how to take a quirky sweater from sun-lover to ski-bunny, but in the meantime – check out the rest of my airport ensemble and the full outfit details below…
This is what I wore on the plane when we headed back to the West Coast for Thanksgiving, and it has been personally testing and Style & Pepper approved. :) Not much is comfier than an oversized (super-soft!) sweater, leggings, a pretty scarf that doubles as a blanket and boots than slip on and off easily at the security check points. Do you have any tricks or tips for traveling in style? Any hilarious airport-style spottings that I should know about? I’ll be sure to keep my eyes peeled tomorrow, and plan on reporting back!

Great outfit. Sometimes I really struggle to find something comfortable and not sloppy to travel in. This is a great look. I love the vest and the scarf has a great pattern. Stylish, but still looks very comfortable for being stuck on a plane.
love those layers! i wore something not even close to as cute as this when i went back to the west coast.
You look so cute! Stef and I are the same way with travel… have it down to a science! And I live for my Lo & Sons bag… keeps everything so organized and easy to access!!
