Concrete Catwalk // New Year's Eve

What is it about New Year's Eve that makes us feel compelled to get all dolled up?  The word glamorous is definitely not one that comes to mind when I think about describing my own personal style, but I DO love putting together a good costume now and again!

I was pretty excited to get dressed up for the Great-Gatsby-themed party that we went to on NYE, and although I don't think my outfit qualified as being literarily accurate, I did love the sparkle and bold use of color.  Plus, I added one of Gerard's grandmothers vintage hats at the last minute, and I think that gave the whole look some extra points. ;)  Kept the accessories simple overall (love my new glittery clutch from Truvow), because I didn't want the look to seem too cluttered.

P.S. Do you remember the dress from when I wore it this past summer?  Styled a little differently, but I still love it!  Can you believe it used to be a size-22 blouse?

And of course, here are a few snaps from the evening, courtesy of our dear hostess with the mostess and my instagram feed (Feel free to follow along - I'm @styleandpepper!).

Cutie-pie friends! Grace the Gracious Hostess, Jenni, Morgan & Christine

Three Musketeers.

 Cheers to the New Year!

I couldn't help but include this one... give us a dance floor, and we'll give you some serious moves. ;)

Christine and I marveling at our dapper dudes on the post party subway ride.

Such a great evening with new and old friends... did you all have a wonderful New Year's Eve?  Who's excited for a fresh start? (ME!)

I love your layers of glam-- it's not just the outfit and then your regular coat and hat. Color me inspired. :)
