the last of the vacay outfit photos...

i SO wish i were still standing right there on my parents lawn! 

*sigh*

i threw on my beach "uniform" (what i wear when i'm not in a swimsuit, anyway)

to run to the la jolla farmer's market with my mom and friends last saturday

and i felt perfectly ready for strolling the stalls 

munching on cayenne-pepper-sprinkled mango and meeting new friends.

i filled my tote bag with fresh shrimp ceviche, ripe avocados, 

bright green brussel sprouts & kalamata olive bread (baked that morning!)

yum!

i just might have to brave the humidity tomorrow to see what our own farmer's market has to offer...

more shots from vacay! this outfit's from dinner out at one of our fave italian spots,

and i couldn't help but backcomb the hair a little and add 

winged eyeliner to channel my inner 60s surfer girl.

looking at these photos makes me wish so badly that i were still there,

but i'm almost equally as excited this week for the great opportunity that brought me home early.

ahoy there! popping in on my last day of vacay to share a few quick outfit photos

before i hop on a plane and head home to kc tonight... *SOB*

i wore this outfit to cook dinner for my parents, extended family & in-laws the other night,

and we had a lovely dinner outside at my parents place just feet away from where these were taken,

complete with homemade raspberry banana ice cream made by my sweet father-in-law!

one of my favorite ways to spend a summer day is lounging poolside.
and here in los angeles the only thing that can make that pool better is when it's on a rooftop!
a hat and suncreen are a must for skin protection,
and this little pink bikini top keeps tan lines at bay,
while a loose blouse and cotton trousers are perfect for covering up when it gets too breezy.
and sure, while I may not actually wear heels to the pool on every occasion,
it's a fun way to get dressed up
and feel lovely for a day in the sun.

i've got a serious love affair going on with this striped shirt...

i just got it in the mail this week, 

and i've probably created a dozen outfits around it in my head already.

this one was just right for running several errands around town

(including getting my hair done... you like?)

and next time, i'd guess it will involve something a little sparklier.

i guess you'll just have to wait and see!

Happy 4th Anniversary, G!

he started off as a fling (don't tell my mom), 

turned into a real boyfriend, then became a fiance

after a year-long engagement, was finally my husband

then turned into a kidnapper who whisked me halfway across the country

(only partially kidding)

now i'm blessed to have him as a photographer & business partner

but no matter which hat he's wearing, 

i can hardly believe i'm lucky enough to call him mine.

g, i love you so much and i thank god every day 

that i get to be your wife, partner & friend.
