DIY: friendship bracelets

image borrowed from the lovely ladies at honestly...WTF

no doubt you have seen a TON of this friendship bracelet trend recently... it's super cute, but i was really hesitant to jump on the bandwagon at first.  mainly because i felt like it became overdone quite quickly, but also because i didn't like the idea of having to tie or untie the ones made with the pretty embroidery thread everytime i needed to take them on/off.

i eventually ended up feeling like i wanted to be BFFs along with everyone else, and this is my take on making the trend work for me!

i bought the actual woven bracelets for this DIY at the hell's kitchen flea market (5 for $5!) and then used just a couple of other household supplies to turn them into cuffs that i can easily slip on and off whenever i please.

see me wear my new cuffs in yesterday's outfit post!

have you tried the friendship bracelet trend yet? i'd love to hear how you wear it,
and if you try this DIY for yourself,
be sure to send me photos so i can see your handiwork!

  3. This is fabulous! I love how it gives it a different vibe, rather than friendship bracelet, it now looks more tribal inspired! LOVE!

  4. I like this idea so much better than actual friendship bracelets! I too have always been turned off by the fact that you have to tie friendship bracelets on (and my fingers are not that dexterous!).

  5. Great idea Jessie! I actually have a few bracelets from Mexico that I would prefer to be bangles. I'm afraid of breaking them every time I tie and then untie them!
