this outfit had at least 6 or 7 different variations before i walked out the door…
i knew i wanted to wear my new kimono-cardi and these DIY heels,
but nothing else really seemed to work out.
sometimes, you just have to rely on the simple jeans-and-tank-top combo!
as for the shoes: they were so simple!
they started out as a plain black pair of nine west platform heels
(that happened to be a smidge too big, so i didn’t wear them often)
and one day, i decided that they could use a little pickmeup!
i used grey and coral water-resistant patio paint from hobby lobby,
brushed on a few coats on the different panels of leather,
and VOILA – my own take on the neon/neutral trend. :)
i love giving an old item of clothing new life!
tank – zara (similar)
kimono-cardi – francesca’s (similar)
necklace – vintage, garage sale (similar)
jeggings – nordstrom (similar)
clutch – vintage, thrifted (similar)
heels – nine west, DIY (similar)
bracelets – vintage, j. crew & clothing swap
flower ring – j. crew (similar)
nail polish – sally hansen, pink slip

The shoes turned out wonderfully! I will have to keep this DIY in mind for boring shoes of my own.
Love the outfit too. I’m inspired…but need to wait for some cooler weather before I pull on pants!

Ooh, I am a huge fan of your DIY action on those heels! They look fantastic, especially with the clean line of the jeans and the bright colors of your cardigan.
