Concrete Catwalk // Bandana

July 8, 2011
i did a style segment last weekend on how to dress for your 4th of july parties
without throwing on an old american flag t-shirt, and unforunately
i think i took my own advice on “not being too literal” a little too seriously.
my own 4th of july outfit looked MUCH more patriotic in my head,
but in retrospect, i’m wishing i would have worn a little more red, white & blue!
oh well. at least my earrings kind of look like fireworks, no?
(probably a stretch, but just go with it, kay?)
have a good weekend, cupcakes,
and if you’re in KC – you can catch me on another style segment tomorrow
talking about chic activewear on NBC action news at 9:30a (or a little after)!
sunnies – banana repubic outlet at the legends
earrings – c/o lulu’s
top – a bandana! (from target)
pants (also seen here) – seaside boutique in cassis, france
wedges – michael antonio, piperlime
clutch – vintage, thrifted
bangles – nana’s
sparkly bracelet & rings – j. crew

Oh how I wish I would have thought to wear a scarf as a top BEFORE I became a mama! I have seen Indiana from Adored Austin pull this off as well! But it’s just not in the cards for me these days. With all the holding, lifting, running, bending and chasing thats involved with keeping up with a toddler, this little top wouldn’t stand a chance! Maybe on a girl’s night out!!
    BTW, you look great!

it’s cute! i personally don’t wear red, white and blue on july 4th…it seems tacky to me for some reason. maybe i had a horrible outfit when i was younger and i am scarred? not sure. anyway, i love these earrings on you — it’s like a party for your head!
