Concrete Catwalk // To the Maxi

April 6, 2011
you know how sometimes a piece of clothing can bring back the best memories?
this maxi dress is definitely one of those pieces for me.
i got it while exploring avignon, france with G and his family,
and i remember feeling like i was taking a fashion risk
because the maxi trend hadn’t really picked up yet.
i loved the tangerine color and the tiny flowers
and so i knew we couldn’t leave the store without it.
i’ve never gotten sick of it and i actually wear it quite often,
but i don’t think i’ve ever featured it on TCC.
anyhow, now it’s getting the recognition it deserves!
maxi dress – small store in avignon
necklace – j. crew
sunnies – anthropologie
cardigan – j. crew
belt – vintage, thrifted
backpack – thrifted
flats – c/o piperlime

If I recall, the store in Avignon was called the monoprix. You always know how to pick them!

Hah half my clothes I’ve kept because I can’t throw away the memories they hold. I’ll probably end up like one of those crazy hoarders you see on tv…
Love the pop of color on those shoes (:

I love the unexpected color combination, but I’m loving that arm full of watches even more! You know, I used to do that back in the day with Swatch watches…I had no idea how ahead of my time I was! :)

Now THIS is how you style a Maxi! I’m not super fond of the trend in general, but I LOVE your take on it here. ADORABLE!
