Haiti

image via the examiner

after seeing the devastation in haiti plastered all over the news, i haven't exactly felt like posting the outfits photos i had planned for the rest of this week.
just feels pretty trivial at this moment, you know?

instead, i'm going to try to do what little i can to provide some sort of aid to those in such desperate need.

will you help me?

for every individual who leaves a message in the comments section of this post, i will donate $5 to the haitian earthquake relief efforts of heart to heart international, an amazing distaster-relief organization based here in kansas city.

if you'd like to make a donation of your own, i would truly encourage you to do so, and if you are local - there are also ways to donate your time to the organization by volunteering at their facilities in olathe.

now, get typing!

  4. What a wonderful idea, Jessie. I have made a donation to the Red Cross but am considering another in order to provide a mere fraction of what is needed as Haiti begins to rebuild.

And by the way, it was such a pleasure to meet you Wednesday evening! I've been a big fan of your blog, so it was lovely to put a face with the writer! I look forward to working with you on Quirk!

  20. what a great way to raise money, jes! husband and i donated through food for the poor, which is another great organization. i know how you feel about outfit posts right now. i feel so selfish about posting things that seem so insignificant in comparison to what these people are going through. i am so proud of you for your kindess. xoxo
