today, i'm pleased to welcome hemline, as a brand new sponsor of the concrete catwalk! we absolutely love the lines that they carry in their local boutique, and we're big fans of the gals that work there, too!
be sure to click over to their website or stop by their space on the plaza... they feature a mix of styles and price-points, so there is truly something for everyone. (see a few of my favorites here, here, and here.)
a huge thank you to hemline for helping to make our site possible!
***if you are interested in becoming a sponsor of the concrete catwalk, please email me for details - we offer very reasonable rates and would love to work with you!
first thing i spotted about this outfit? the cool kicks. second thing? he accessorized the entire look with his camera! great minds think alike. (also loving the leather jacket and trapper hat combo)

smiles or not, we love her look earthy colors with just the right amount of drape and a hint of sparkle on her ears to offset the lovely hardware on the belt

this hemline lass is glowing possibly from all of the excitement of the event? or maybe it's that fabulous one-shoulder dress. (oh how we LOVE dresses with pockets AND flower appliques!)

loving all of the glitz and glimmer of this ensemble on the top half she's got the glam rocker look and from the waist down she's keeping it tailored and classy my favorite part: the sequin pattern also doubles as an animal print rawr.

i know i've already mentioned this, but THERE WERE LIVE SNAKES IN THE SHOW! this sassy lady tapped in to the snakeskin look in a less literal way but she's still walking on the wild side and looks fab doing it (just probably a bit safer and less slithery)

this color looked absolutely grand on sweet jenna and the lacy detail gave her top a lovely updated look can you guess the part that really made my heart flutter? oh yes, my dears, it was those studded shoes.

this little gem had, by far, one of my most favorite get-ups of the evening just the right amount of sparkle, cozy, curls and vavoom (the vavoom would be those saucy shoes, if you couldn't tell) on top of all that, she's as cute as a button! yet another look that i plan on recreating in it's entirety for myself. at eve, the hemline fall fashion show - october 15, 2009 -
kudo's to all who were involved. every single outfit that came down the runway (all provided by hemline) was impeccably put together and i honestly would wear any of the looks in a heartbeat. i noticed as i was snapping photos during the show that my mouth was hanging open... thank god i had a camera in front of my face... i'm hoping nobody saw. :) the hemline head-honchos and the production management were so welcoming and genuine, and each one of the gals that work at the shop is more adorable than the next.
i can't wait to show you all the details - they really went all out with the theme! There were belly dancers before and after the show, authentic drumming music to set the mood, and the many of the models carried LIVE SNAKES down the runway! it was almost too much for me to handle, but i loved every minute of it.
thank you to all who let me shoot their fabulous style and to all who came and said hello. i was so encouraged by everyone's comments and it was very humbling to meet some of my readers in person!
i've got a busy weekend lined up, but hopefully will be able to get started on editing all that i shot, and i promise to at least have a few style shots up for next week.
we are SO excited to be attending eve: a forbidden fashion show at 8 pm tomorrow night, at the municipal auditorium. not only because we love hemline, but also because we LOVE love the humane society of greater kansas city! our precious sadie (see yesterday's post below) was a shelter pup and our kitty was a stray, so we are ALL about rescued animals.
no need to purchase tickets, but a donation is requested upon entry.
will we have the pleasure of seeing you there? do come and say hello!
mr. mix and match threw on stripes, plaid, and a houndstooth driving cap to create a look that is somehow very seamlessly pulled together (might have something to do with the precious puppy in pink)
then again, i might be a little biased because this mr. is mine and the puppy is ours
fun floral patterns get me every time, but when you add the something like a billowy sleeve? i'm done for. and let's just face it - every girl needs a perfect red shoe! last but not least, i am SERiously needing a buttery soft, grey handbag for fall.
not a huge fan of taking pictures at night but i didn't want to pass on the chance to snap a shot of sweet jeff. the sweatshirt-esque jacket over a tie is perfection and he's got just the right combo of blacks and blues. can't forget to mention that his kicks are from the one and only, habitat. at the first friday quixotic show - october 2, 2009 -
last friday really felt like fall and it was great to see people breaking out their layering pieces for the new season i'm particularly loving her stripey scarf (i've got a serious thing for stripes) and the oxford-tights-miniskirt combo. at first fridays waiting for the quixotic show - october 2, 2009 -
jared is the sweetie-pie husband of another veryfine fashionista that we know. he always looks good and friday night was no exception. at the darling room - october 2, 2009 -
i think... no wait, i definitely love portland great city, great food, GREAT friends, and great style. yep, it's definitely one of my new faves. this outfit is a fave, too. so much so that i re-created the entire look for myself. (even down to cutting myself some bangs) imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, no? in front of frank james in portland at the dear creatures trunk show - september 26, 2009 -
